Tecfidera -Day 3

My son seems to fell a bit better today. The pediatrician advised me to fill him with clear liquids, use Motrin as needed for fever, and adhere to the BRAT diet when his appetite returns. He ate a small ball of chicken broth and noodles for supper and all is going well for now.

I, on the other hand, am tolerating dose four with much more success. Thanks to my FB MSers for their advice of using baby aspirin prior to taking my Tec and encouraging me to drink plenty of water. It didn't really help last night, but today I feel more like myself. Of course, each event will undoubtedly result in a differing reaction.

After thirteen years of living with MS, my symptoms are becoming more mainstream and recently I have been introduced to random pains that I had read about but not experienced. My drop foot has been consistent since 2001, but so far it has only affected my right foot. Sometimes lately my left foot seems to want to join the party. I use a can more often than not and even when I feel strong my cane is not far from my side just in case. I don't mind the cane and am blessed with friends who have contributed to my growing collection of designer walking aids. That doesn't make it any less annoying, but having a lovely fashion accessory brightens the day a bit.

I will say that my Tecfidera experience thus far has been nasty. When first diagnosed I was prescribed Beta Seron and religiously self-injected for eleven years. I never questioned the drug even though I didn't like it; but when I just abruptly decided to stop taking it, I realized how much better I felt without it. Because I have suffered a couple of mild exasperations and my symptoms seemed to have worsened, my neuro firmly believes that I "should be on something" and I trust him unconditionally. So, it is Tecfidera for me, for now.

BORED? ARE YOU A COUCH POTATO?

Bored? Are you a couch potato?

If you are already prone to this malady, the following information may be dangerous in encouraging this behavior. This writer is not responsible for damages done.

As a result of today's blog topic,  my personal couch potato activities are responsible for the lack of yesterday's post. In an attempt to justify my actions, I blame Netflix (in the name of research).

The best way to prove a fact is to test it, right? Yesterday I definitely put Netflix to the test by watching hours of Safe, a one-season Harlon Coben creation that whetted my love for crime/mystery/action-based entertainment. Harlon Coben is an American author whose work I have enjoyed immensely over the years,  discovering Safe as Coben's break out into film became that much sweeter when The Five caught my attention another series of his own. I will finish The Five today (unless some saves me) so that I can further investigate Coben with viewings of The Stranger. I might take a break …

CBD and MS

We warriors are a resilient breed. After speaking extensively with a CBD enthusiast over the weekend, i finally bit the bullet and bought the "good" stuff...all in the name of research. Things have changed a bit since my first CBD experience, including the flavor. This particular product comes in natural (an earthy flavor), peppermint (self-explanatory), and cinnamon (Yum!).Because particular brand (Hempworx) has ONLY two ingredients : CDB and hemp seed oil.

I decided to document my experience here, so if any of you are interested we can discuss our personal journeys. As you all know, MS is an expensive condition that requires careful thought to additional treatments and related expenditures, most of which are not recognized by insurance companies and/or medical professionals; so, every experience is a financial gamble.

I started my new "treatment" on Saturday, October 26, 2019. The instructions direct you to take two-three drops under the tongue twice a day for th…

Hodge Podge of MS info

...Warriors are their own physician. So,Warrior, heal thyself!

Ten days since I mailed in my request appeal for coverage in acquiring L300 GO. Nine days since starting my latest journey with CBD oil. Since then I have received confirmation that my appeal is being reviewed AND I have upped my daily oil dosage from 3 drops to 5. The biggest change I've observed is that I'm in a much better mood, so maybe Zoloft will be the first med I can eliminate from my personal pharmacy. Will keep ya posted.

Thinking positive about both ventures, but content with the outcome no matter what. I am NOT in control of my destiny and the man upstairs knows my needs, so it rests in His hands; but, I've got a brain and as long as that brain is functioning I'll continue to search for relief. And that's okay. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue fighting the MonSter by whatever means I am given.

In fact I'm already checking out my next chapter in fighting this
bugger.

With my phy…
